Paws for a Cause raises over $26,000 for North Peace SPCA

Those donations combined with over $5,000 pledged online, $3,600 raised prior to the event, and almost $1,000 from the proceeds of Mr. Mike’s sales mean our furry friends in the North Peace will be receiving a cool $26,021.25. Employees of Scotiabank are to thank for a huge part of that, as they raised approximately $9,200 on their own, along with Safeway and Canadian Tire as corporate sponsors.

All the funds raised stay at the shelter in Fort St. John for operating costs, which include wages, building maintenance, medical supplies and services for the animals.

“It was wonderful to see so many pets out yesterday along with their people,” writes the branch on Facebook. “Thank you so much for coming and supporting us.”
