High school riders enjoy first time out at The Horse Park

Lynn Peck of the B.C.High School Rodeo Association says that The Horse Park has everything it wants, from lots of places to sit to the use of brand new gear.

“This is a new facility, so we’re working with new equipment. It’s nice to see Terry [McLeod] and the staff here at The Horse Park have done a phenomenal job. There’s a lot of work setting up one of these; the general public just doesn’t understand how much it is,” she explains. “It’s a real usable arena, competitor friendly, lots of seating for fans. This is a private organization, a private individual who is doing this for the love of the sport of rodeo, and we certainly appreciate that he’s stepped up to the plate and done this.”

A number of riders echoed Peck’s sentiments about The Horse Park, and were looking forward to coming back for the spring event back in FortSt. John. The next rodeo will be held this weekend in Dawson Creek. Below are the winners from the FortSt. John event:
