ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a terminal condition that destroys the voluntary muscles of the body. Shirley Dubois is the coordinator for the event. She is hoping that people from the northern communities come and take part as the Dawson Creek walk is the only one in the area.
“I would like to see more people from up the northern Peace area, because we’re the only walk between Whitehorse, and Prince George,” she says. “The awareness, and the fundraising, is most, most important to us.”
Dubois adds that there are no limits to the distance people must walk, or donations they can raise.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m., with the walk beginning at 11.
