Megan Hunder of PacificSport says that the event was held to help bring attention to different organizations in the community, for the purpose of helping people achieve a healthy lifestyle.

“We just like to raise awareness for all of the different clubs in town, and get the people of Fort St. John more active in the community,” she says. “I approached all of the local sports organizations, and the ones that were taking part were the ones that were available for the day.”

She adds that the day wouldn’t be possible without the City of Fort St. John donating facilities for the event.

“PacificSport put it on but the City has donated ice times, and the field house and stuff for use for the event, so it’s more of a partnership type deal.”

Among the sports that people took part in were figure skating, speed skating, hockey, gymnastics, soccer, tae kwon do, and jiu jitsu.
