Several minor earthquakes in Peace Region within a week

Their epicentres were all at a depth of one, five, or 10 kilometres, and none were felt at the surface.

Before that, there was a magnitude 2.6 quake 17 kilometres south-south west of Fort St. John at 11:42 a.m. on August 16 at a depth of 1.4 kilometres, and one 98 kilometres southwest of Dawson Creek past Tumbler Ridge at 6:01 p.m. August 15 at a depth of 7.1 kilometres.

56 kilometres west of Fort St. John was the first of the recent string of quakes, with one registering 2.1 on the Richter scale at 4:14 p.m. on August 13 at the earth’s surface.

None of those earthquakes were felt at the surface either.
