“This is our record high and an amazing accomplishment,” says Corporal James Rutledge. “Thank you to all of those who were arrested and the fine community members who donated or joined us for lunch.”

The top fundraiser this year was Curtis York, who raised over $11,000 to set a new record on his own as well.

All proceeds from the Jail and Bail go towards pediatric cancer research and Camp Goodtimes, a summer recreation program that provides a unique experience for children and teens with cancer and their families.

The Dawson Creek RCMP detachment has another fundraiser coming up at the regimental dinner on September 12 at the Encana Events Centre. Tickets for the formal, five course meal with entertainment by comedian Trent McClellan and a silent auction go on sale this week through the events centre’s box office.
