They’ll be joined by the CF-18 demo team that will show off the supersonic  fighter aircraft. Stepping away from military planes, paraplegic hang glider Dan Buchanan will wow the crowd when he launches from a moving vehicle, while Kent Pietsch lands his Jelly Belly covered Interstate Cadet onto a moving RV (but not at the same time!).

The team of Ken Fowler and Eric Hansen will be doing aerobatics in their self-made Harmon Rockets, followed by Dave Mathieson in the world’s most advanced aerobatic aircraft called the MX2. Lastly, Pete McLeod, the youngest pilot and first Canadian to compete in the elite Red Bull Air Race World Championship, will show off his “smooth and precise” flying.

Making them all look good will be April Zalesky and her team of special effects experts AV8FX on the pyrotechnics.

The two shows will take place on Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 28 at 1 p.m., with gates opening two hours prior. $15 advance tickets are available online until 11 p.m. Friday, July 26, and $20 tickets will be available at the gate. Tickets for seniors and students cost $10 in advance of $15 at the gate, while tickets for children up to 6 years old cost $5 for the Saturday show and are free Sunday through the ticket they received with their report card. Veterans receive free admission.

Residents are encouraged to take a free shuttle bus from the North Peace Arena that will run two hours prior to each show. Parking on site is limited, and costs $15 per day per vehicle, with partial proceeds going to North Peace Search and Rescue. Access to the parking lots is via 100th Avenue or the 255 road through Baldonnel, and the Swanson Lumber Road will be closed to general traffic during the show.

Bringing lawn chairs and blankets to sit on is recommended, along with a small umbrella in case it rains. There will be food and drink vendors, that will accept cash. Pets and smoking are not permitted on site, along with hard sided coolers.
