In 2012/2013 B.C. Transit recorded 126,550 passenger trips, an increase over the 122,253 the previous year.

“Dawson Creek has a transit system that is affordable and efficient and I’m not surprised to see that ridership has increased,” said Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier. “Our transit system is an excellent option for getting around the community and we continue to support a strong partnership with BC Transit and the City to ensure they are meeting the needs of our citizens.”

The transit system in Dawson Creek got a bit of a makeover in early 2012, with the addition of a route that reached Driver House, the Senior Citizens’ Hall, the Co-op Mall and the Dawson Mall. The #1 Northside route was also extended further north on 17th Street on a trial basis from March to June this spring, and another test is being considered for this September to June 2014.
