That means in the first week of the month, we’ve recorded nearly 40 per cent of the July average of 83.2 millimetres. Thus we are well ahead of last year’s pace, when we received only 9.8 millimetres in the first week, and the full month total was 10 millimetres less than we’ve already recorded this year.
However, this was a heavy precipitation day two years ago when the airport station recorded 45.4 millimetres of rain – the biggest one day dump in the month – when it posted a total of 144.9.
