The event was held at the North Peace Rod and Gun Club’s shooting range in CharlieLake. The clay shoot is intended to simulate the shooting of birds during a real hunt.
Brian Royan took second place, shooting 66 on the second day for a total of 242 points, and third place went to Mike Russell. Russell registered 64 points, and a total of 231 for the event.
In the men’s B class, Mayor Rick registered 50 points for a total of 197 which locked up first place. Ron Brautigam had a better second day shoot as he got 55 points but still fell short in the overall standings with 190 points. Close behind with 189 total points was Clark Lavallee who shot 55 as well on the final day.
In the men’s C class standings, Boyd Wedge won with 166 points as he shot 52 yesterday. Second spot went to Willie Russell who shot 56, on his way to 163, and third spot went to Dan McCormick. McCormick had a final score of 158 points, including 43 on Sunday.
In the female shooting category, Kim Copley tallied 35 points for an overall score of 166, and second went to Lynette Kitt as she scored 156 points over the two day event, with 44 of those coming yesterday.
And in the junior grouping, Cody Nadeau finished in first place. He shot 53 en route to a total of 206. Second went to Mason MacDonald who had a total of 196, including 59 points yesterday. Third was Clayton McCormick who also had a total of 196, and shot 53 on the final day.
The next event for the North Peace Rod and Gun Club will be the Oilmen’s Trap Shoot on July 12 and 13.
