Three days of Canada Day celebration in Fort St. John

The fun continues Sunday, June 30, with another party in the park from 4 to 8 p.m., with something for the whole family, including inflatables, wagon rides, a petting zoo and free food. That event is followed by a barn dance in the park, starting at 8 p.m.

The big day is Monday, July 1, with the Canada Day parade, fireworks, and Classic Car Show ’n Shine.

This year’s parade will begin at 11 a.m. from the North Peace Arena. The parade will proceed from there on to 96 Avenue, making a right onto 100 Street. It will follow up Main Street and make another right at 108 Avenue. Shortly after, the parade will make another right onto 98 Street, following all the way down to 101 Avenue, where the parade will make a left and follow for a block. They will make one more right and follow that last straight stretch back to the arena.

The parade will be followed by another celebration in the park from 12 until 4 p.m., while the Classic Car Show ’n Shine takes place at the base of 100 Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day will culminate with the classic Canada Day fireworks at 11 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring camping chairs to the lawn of North Peace Secondary School for the best view.
