Still no sign of missing Fort St. James woman as search concludes

She was last seen wearing grey yoga pants, white shoes and a black hooded sweatshirt with a red maple leaf on the front.

A search by ground, air and water was started on June 18 and ended on the 21st after four days. In addition to police efforts, Search and Rescue teams from Fort St. James, Mackenzie, Burns Lake and Vanderhoof, along with volunteers searched for any sign of Basil in the dense forest. Search efforts included the use of a police dog on the ground, a plane and helicopters in the sky, and a swift water boat on the Tachie River.

Unfortunately, eight days after her disappearance, Basil was still missing.

Although the search has concluded, the investigation into her whereabouts continues with the help of the North District Major Crime Unit. Public assistance calls are being taken by the Fort St James RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
