Prince George Fire Centre personnel helping in Yukon

The Ministry of Forests explains that current conditions in the province mean it is able to share resources, and is happy to do so.

“We’re glad we can assist our neighbours to the north without compromising our ability to respond here in B.C.,” says Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson.

The resources can remain for up to 19 days, but could be recalled if they’re needed in B.C. The cost of deploying them is borne by the receiving jurisdiction, as dictated under the Mutual Aid Resources Sharing Agreement.
