Police not ruling out connection between recent homicide and home invasion

However, Shelkie has confirmed that RCMP believes the killing was drug related, and was not a random attack. She adds that investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the homicide is in someway related to a home invasion on June 7.

A number of people escaped a home invasion in which a firearm was used on 92 Street that morning. It occurred just four days after the 20 year old male was found dead in a field off the 250 Road near the 271 after reports of shots fired in the area.

Police maintain there is no risk to public safety from either of these attacks.
