Stephanie Woodwark, AKA Francis Break’em says that the team held the lead the whole way and was able to move some players into the position of jammers, who attempt to lap opposing skaters to score points.
“We took the lead in the beginning and held it for the entire game,” Woodwark says. “We played some new girls as jammers and they were awesome. They got some experience jamming that they may not have otherwise.”
Next up for the Killbillies is the home opener on June 15. against Quesnel. Woodwark and the team are looking forward to being able to play in front of the home fans.
“We’re so excited, things are coming together really well, it’s going to be awesome.” Woodwark says.
The doors for the event will open at 6 p.m., and the game will have an opening bout for rookies at 6:30 p.m, with the main event getting underway at 7 p.m.
