Finals set in five divisions as play continues from the Oilmen’s Golf Tournament from Charlie Lake

Despite the late afternoon rain, match play is still continuing from the Lakepoint Golf and Country Club, and the finals have been establish in five divisions.

Division 12 will see Al Levers take on Shane Richter. To get to the finals, Levers had to get through Troy Ramstead and Dennis Vig, and Richter needed to overcome Kerry Lawson and Jeff Robertson to qualify for the final round.

In division 13, Kelly Ollenberger will square off against Brett Wilson. Ollenberger defeated Lyle Hall and Derek Green to advance to tomorrow’s game, while Wilson got the better of Andrew White and Dan Bonin to secure his spot. 

The division 14 finals has Terry Little meeting Len Fallis. Little squared off against Don Smith and Randy Fenton today, while Fallis played Cliff Reimer and Jerry Mullin to advance.

Over  in division 16, Kirk Rutz will tee off against Troy Vines. Rutz needed to beat Tim Maloney and Brian Pearson to book his spot, and Vines was able to get by Don McLeod and Tom Ouellette.

In division 17, Tom Birch will meet Tim Toews. Birch played Garett Smith and Erwin Kraeleman today in his two games, and Toews battled Calvin Elson and Marcel Ducharme to move on to tomorrow’s final.

Tomorrow’s final rounds in each of the divisions are set to tee off for 5:30 a.m., meanwhile the losers of today’s match play contests will be entered into best ball competition later in the morning, which is set to get started at 10 o’clock.
