Crown petroleum and natural gas rights sale results expected today

Barring a tender bonus disaster yesterday, the total for the first half of the calendar year should remain well ahead of the 2012 pace, as the June sale last year resulted in little more than $2 million.

However, being ahead of last year’s pace doesn’t really represent much of an achievement, considering the province finished 2012 with less than $140 million in bonus bids. That was the lowest calendar year total since the Liberals took control of the provincial government in 2001.

To find one lower than that, you must go all the back to 1998, and 96 point three million.
