BBQ to support upcoming Run for Recovery this Saturday

Making the approximately 357 kilometre journey will only be made easier for the 2011 Canadian National Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships gold medallist with more support from the community.

This Saturday, a barbecue will be held at Price Smart in Fort St. John from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all proceeds going towards building a drug and alcohol addiction treatment centre in northeastern B.C. Residents will also be able to pledge Brown, who will be running the equivalent of a marathon every day over a couple of weeks starting June 15.

The Run for Recovery was Brown’s idea, as she wanted to give back to the community after it supported her hometown of the Babine Lake First Nation after the fatal sawmill explosion last year.
