Shooting victim known to police

Corporal Jodi Shelkie adds that the victim was known to police, and reiterates that they believe this was not a random shooting, and there is no concern to the general public’s safety.

“Every investigative avenue is being pursued,” she says. “We have dedicated many resources to this investigative including local, regional and North District units. Also, a Major Crime Unit from Vancouver is aiding in the investigation.”

At this point the Major Crime Unit is not releasing any information whether there is a possible suspect.

Fort St. John RCMP is asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything to contact them at 250-787-8100, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 250-222-8477.
