Unemployment rate jumps in Northeast B.C.

In April 2012, the unemployment rate was 4.2 per cent with 39,200 people working.

The Northeast no longer has the lowest unemployment rate in the Province.  The lowest area is now Prince George at 4.6 and the Kootenay’s at 4.7.  

Across the province, the unemployment rate dropped to 6.8 per cent, while the national rate remained steady at 7.2 per cent.
