Tours open at Peace Canyon and W.A.C. Bennett hydroelectric dams

The visitor centre of the W.A.C. damn offers guests a number of exhibits as well as an audio/visual theatre, a gift shop and a cafe. The tour involves a bus ride to the base of the damn and a walk through the powerhouse area.

The Peace Canyon visitor centre has a variety of exhibits on the construction of the damn and Hudson’s Hope’s history. There are also exhibits on the Hadrosaurs, a kind of dinosaur that once lived along the Peace River.

The sites are two of four B.C. Hydro visitor centres in the province, and will remain open until September 2.
