Taylor tax rates hold steady for 2013

The residential rate remains at 3.4682 while the business and other rate holds steady at 5.2223. The utilities rate for 2013 is 31.8977, while the light industry rate is 25.7922 and the farm rate is 5.61. The recreational property and non-profit rate is 3.4682.

Land owners will see those tax rates, along with the Regional District’s, Emergency Services and Regional Hospital District’s. Combined, those three add up to 1.1072 for residents.

The tax rate hold will likely be seen favourably by Taylor residents, after most Peace Region property owners saw a raise on their 2013 assessment notice. The Peace River assessment roll increased by approximately $1.75 billion, with most home owners seeing an increase of zero to 15 per cent. In Taylor, the average assessed value for a single family residential property increased by 13.8 per cent over 2012 from $247,000 to $281,000.
