5.4 per cent of eligible Peace River North voters have cast advance ballots

At 1,351 votes in the North Peace, the number of advance voters is up a third over 2009, when over 1,000 people voted on Wednesday and Thursday. Numbers are also up in Peace River South with 1,020, well over the approximately 800 that came out by this point last election. 

Province-wide, 81,917 advance votes were cast on Thursday, bringing the total so far to 188,754, which is just over six per cent of eligible voters. In 2009, 147,298 cast ballots on the first two days of advance voting.

The advance polls are again open tonight until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. In Peace River North you can vote at the following locations. :

  • Northern Rockies Recreation Centre, 5500 Alaska Highway, Fort Nelson
  • Pearkes Centre, 10801Dudley Drive, Hudson’s Hope
  • Pomeroy Sport Centre, 9324 96 Street, FortSt. John
  • Taylor Community Hall, 9896 West Cherry Avenue, Taylor

Election day is May 14.
