The three stuck together the whole race as they made up the lead pack of riders after the 35 kilometre mark after the Goodlow hills. King was in the lead approaching the finish however Shaw was able to pass at the line.
Coming in fourth place was George Gamble at 2:06:18, Pat Ferris was fifth, clocking in at 2:07:33, sixth went to Gary Hilderman who registered a time of 2:08:37. Roger St. Jean took the seventh spot, he finished his race in 2:08:57. Davide Loro and Celeste Pakstas finished with times of 2:20:21, however is was Loro was declared 8th place, and finishing the top ten was Nicole Winstanley who finished the race in 2:41:34.
It’s a busy week ahead for the Blizzard Bike Club with a number of events on the schedule. Tuesday the riders will be continuing the duathlon series from Baldonnel School at 7 p.m., that’s followed by a Cactus race at 7 Wednesday evening, and Thursday will be another running of the Baldonnel time trial at 7 p.m.
