Previously, the two companies jointly operated the mill, with LP handling operations and Canfor providing labour, fiber resource management and administration. LP is now solely responsible for running the mill, but Canfor will continue to provide fiber resource management and temporarily provide administrative services during the transition.
In November, Canfor President and Chief Executive Officer Don Kayne explained the decision to sell its assets was part of the company’s “re-profiling” to focus on lumber, pulp and paper manufacturing. In a release today he writes, “The Peace Valley OSB operation has been an excellent operation in partnership with LP. We wish LP every success and look forward to maintaining our relationship as we continue to manage the Peace Valley OSB mill’s fibre resources.”
Canfor will continue to provide fiber resource management and temporarily provide administrative services during the transition.
