Gas prices skyrocket in Fort St. John

For those who didn’t vote for Pierre Elliott Trudeau, that works out to $6.95 an Imperial gallon.

At that time, the 100th street Esso was still at $1.429, and the Safeway and two Shell outlets were holding at a $1.369.

The new top end price was more than 11 cents a litre higher than the falling provincial average, which according to bcgasprices.com had slipped slightly to $1.415. However, it was not the top end price in the province, because the same monitor showed that was now $1569 at another PetroCan outlet in Stewart, followed by $1.539 at another FasGas in Fort Nelson.
