Fort St. John jet boat racer wins international competition

The race includes eight, 25 kilometre legs between St. Maries and Calder, Idaho on May 18 and 19. Drivers encounter whitewater rapids, and must navigate their way through narrow turns, rocks and sandbars, while reaching speeds of up to 140 miles per hour.

Humphrey completed the race in 2:00:31, beating second place Dale Whiteside of Penhold, Alberta and third place Ivan Buchholtz of Peace River, Alberta. This is the first time the Race the Joe has been held, but Humphrey and Zapesocki are no strangers to jet boat racing, as world champions having competed and won a number of races around the world.
