The meeting will be a drop in concept to allow as many parents as possible to attend and get the required information for the next school year.

Changes to the way the Ministry of Education allocates funds has resulted in a shortfall of several thousand dollars between what it costs to transport students and what School District 60 is given for transportation each year. The goal of the meeting is to find a way to make transportation a revenue neutral process.

Another issue making things difficult for the district is that transportation is not considered a required service. As a result, a way has to be found to provide funding for transportation, as well as other areas to best serve the needs of students.
