Beaverlodge grain elevator fire considered suspicious

Volunteer fire crews from Beaverlodge and nearby Hythe have been at the scene of the fire adjacent to Highway 43 since around 6:30 a.m. this morning. Initial reports indicated that the structure did not contain any grain at the time, but had some equipment stored inside.

There have been no reports of injuries and traffic has resumed to normal in the area.

Anyone who might have been in the area at the time of the fire is asked to call the Grande Prairie/Beaverlodge RCMP Detachment at 780-354-2955 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
