A team of two teachers and four students, lead by Brant Churchill, took part in information sessions and panel discussions on topics like renewable energy sources and careers in the natural resource sector, as well as trying hands-on activities like making a solar-powered lantern.
Along 19 other schools from Alberta, the NPSS team was sent to the summit on a full scholarship.
Now that they’re home, they are now working on starting an energy literacy project to share with their school and community.
