Fort St. John improves in Best Places to Live rankings

Last year Fort St. John dropped to the 125th spot, from 111th in 2011. In 2009 the city was ranked as high as 34th.

Elsewhere in the region, Dawson Creek fell after improving last year from 89th to 112th, while Grande Prairie continues to improve, jumping to 87th place from 95th in 2012. Prince George came in 145th overall.
 
Calgary topped the list this year, beating three-time winner Ottawa, which fell to sixth place. The rankings are based on a number of factors, including employment numbers, crime rates and weather.
