Two dead in Southridge Trailer Park explosion and fire

Witnesses report hearing a large explosion sometime between 10 and 10:15 p.m. and found the trailer at 9207 82 Street engulfed in flames. Police say one neighbour tried to enter the home to help any occupants, but was unable due to the intense flames and heat.

One resident who lives in a trailer to the east was put up in a hotel for the night.  Trailers on either side of the explosion suffered superficial damage. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The cause of the explosion and fire is still unknown, and an investigation by the RCMP, Fire Commission and B.C. Coroner's Service is ongoing. If you have any information, contact the Fort St. John RCMP detachment.
