RCMP recover stolen vehicle believed to be used by Sunday shooting suspect

Evidence recovered has led them to believe it was used by the male suspect.

RCMP continues to investigate the incident, when an unknown male entered a residence approximately 30 minutes north of Fort St. John around 9 p.m. He then shot the male occupant in the abdominal area before leaving in a dark coloured vehicle. The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 5'8" and 170 to 180 pounds.

Sergeant Steve Perret of the Fort St. John General Investigation Section says it's believed this was a targetted attack.

"The Fort St. John RCMP wants to reassure the public that this was not a random shooting," he says, "police believe that the victim was targeted by the shooter."

The victim was transported to hospital to have the bullet removed and is expected to make a full recovery.

If you have any information about the white pickup or shooting contact the RCMP at 250-787-8140 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
