Proposed upgrades to increase Charlie Lake sewer capacity

The Peace River Regional District has since conducted an in depth monitoring study, to figure out what their options were to increase capacity. It determined that the following upgrades would be needed: lagoon expansion works, main sewer lift works, identified sewer system mainline upgrades and potential service area expansion.

The cost of the upgrades is currently being determined, which would be funded through a combination of grants and a tax per parcel of land. A public meeting will be held in the spring to show residents how much the upgrades would cost them, and explain the public approval process.

If approved, it's expected construction would begin in 2014.
