However, last night's single block carvings are melting, and carvers today were having difficulties. Despite any trouble with the warmth, the District of Taylor once again won the Mayors challenge with their ice carving on the Lone Wolf Golf Course logo, beating out Fort St. John, Tumbler Ridge and Shell Canada.

The Crystal Cup kicked off this morning with with a ceremonial puck drop by NHL alumni Dave Babych, and other athletes got to work in the Over the Line tournament at Charlie Lake, the Ladies Bonspiel and the Rogers Old Timers Hockey Tournament. The Chocolate Festival will open its doors at 6 p.m., and the second of three comedy shows at the Lido Theatre starts at 7 p.m. The Huskies also play tonight, starting at 7;30 p.m.
