Multiple firearms seized from Dawson Creek residence

A search warrant was then executed at a residence in the 800 block of 95 Avenue in Dawson Creek, where multiple weapons and a small amount of drugs were found. RCMP seized a GIB model 3200 American Import CO. double barrel shotgun, a Mark 4 British .303 rifle, a loaded Model 870 Remington 12 gauge shotgun, a machete, multiple knives and a small amount of cocaine from the residence. Although police believe these firearms are likely stolen, at this point they are unable to confirm where they came from.

The 27 year old male resident of Dawson Creek was arrested without incident. He has since been charged with three counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, four counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a court order, four counts of breach of probation and one count of possession of a controlled substance. He has been released from police custody under strict court imposed conditions, and is next set to appear in court on March 5, 2013.
