Leander Attachie gets fours years for cousin Kevin's death

He was originally charged with second degree murder, which was later reduced to manslaughter.

He was sentenced in Fort St. John court yesterday, with credit given for the 20.5 months he has already served, leaving 27.5 months remaining on his sentence. The judge also made an order to obtain his DNA, and he's also now under a 10 year firearms prohibition.
Crown counsel Margaret Cissell says the judge expressed how sad this was for the entire community and the family.
