Horst will be looking to improve his results from the previous race in Landgraaf, Netherlands, where the Fort St. John firefighter finished in the round of 32.
Following an indoor race in Landgraaf, which wasn’t too popular with Horst, racers will be back outside in Lausanne, racing on a challenging ice cross track 440 metres in length, which includes a 50 metre vertical drop.
Horst enters the weekend ranked 14 out of 184 in the 2012/2013 Red Bull Crashed Ice Standings with 558 points.
Festivities begin Friday, March 1 when the team event begins, an event that Horst and his teammates from Team Living the Dream won at the second event of the season, raced in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The main event hits the ice Saturday, March 2, and is expected to attract 200,000 plus in attendance, especially since three Swiss racers finished in the top ten ending the 2012 portion of the season.
This will be the first time Red Bull’s ice cross downhill event will be raced in Switzerland following a three year hiatus.
