Fort St. John Community Awards back after hiatus

Through sponsorship, the two organizations were able to hold a cost neutral gala event, but returned afterwards to recognizing members of the community in separate events and haven't partnered since.

The city's awards weren't held last year, for staff reevaluate the program due to low ticket sales.
 
This year's awards will be held on April 25, 2013, with a budget of $25,000 from the city.
 
The 2013 Community Awards categories include:
 
Cultural Person of the Year
Recreation Person of the Year
Literacy – Individual or Corporate/Group
Humanitarian – Individual or Corporate/Group
Mayor's Citizen of the Year 
Youth of the Year 
Best Business of the Year
Outstanding Customer Service – Business with up to 15 employees
Outstanding Customer Service – Business with 16 and over employees
