36th annual Old Timers Hockey Tournament hitting Fort St. John ice

The 12 team hockey tournament welcomes teams from all across the Peace Region, including Fort Nelson, Hudson’s Hope, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Dawson Creek, Clearview, Cecil Lake, Fort St. John and Taylor, who all gather at the North Peace Arena and the Pomeroy Sport Centre for three days of friendly competition.

The 36 year old tournament is the largest Old Timers tournament in the region, and this year has also been approved to have a beer garden, which will produce an even more fun-filled atmosphere for everyone involved.

Participants also have the opportunity to leave the tournament with some great prizes provided by local sponsors. Prizes can be won by teams that eventually win their division, as well as prizes for the team that shows the best sportsmanship.

The tournament will run all day Saturday, February 9, starting at 10 a.m. and concluding at 7 p.m. Then Sunday the action kicks off at 9 a.m., wrapping up at 6 p.m.
