Streeper also claimed victories in the 2003 and 2006 races.

It was a challenging two-day victory for Streeper, who entering day two, was trailing 25 teams, passing all of them on the final race day for the first place finish.

With the victory just a few days old, Streeper and his team have already begun training for the upcoming Canadian Championship Dog Derby in Yellowknife, a 150-mile race across the Great Slake Lake.

It could be a historical race to add to Streeper’s impressive resume, as he enters the event tied for the most career wins ever in this competition.

The hunt for history will take place in March.
