To give the public an opportunity to learn more about the fire department, as well as give their input into its budget and plans for the future, an open house is being held on February 21. An update on the fire service review done in 2012 will be on display, as well as the 2013 Budget and the five year capital plan.
Input will also be sought on whether a Fire Service Advisory Committee should be formed of members of the community. Its mandate would be to oversee the budget and help the Fire Department with public relations. The alternative option would be to continue to hold annual open houses to update the community.
The 2013 open house will take place Thursday, February 21 from 4 to 8 p.m.
