Plane with ties to Dawson Creek missing in Antarctica

The company was started by Dawson Creek resident Kenn Borek, who also runs an oil patch construction company in town. The airline is also well known for two rescues from the South Pole and North Pole in 2001 and 2003.

At last note, the locator beacon for the plane had stopped working, likely because the battery has died, but rescue officials say they know where the aircraft is. Extreme winds and heavy snow have stalled the search for now.
