Input sought on proposed coal mine near Chetwynd and Hudson's Hope

The open-pit mine would produce 4.1 million metric tonnes of metallurgical coal per year, and would have an expected life of 20 years. In the future, it would also use combined open-pit surface and underground mining.

The CEAA now needs to decide if a federal environmental assessment is needed for the project.  If it is determined that one is required, there will be three more opportunities for the public to comment.
