Huskies begin second half of season with two-game weekend

Fourth place Dawson Creek will make their way to the Energetic City Friday, with the two teams facing each other for the third time this season, with each team having won once, each time by the same 4-3 score.

Following Saturday’s game, the Huskies will mush their way to Grande Prairie, to take on the league’s top team, the JDA Kings, who boast an impressive record of 19-3-0.

Much like Friday, Saturday’s tilt will be the third meeting between the JDA Kings and the Huskies, with Fort St. John yet to defeat Grande Prairie this season, who have outscored the pups 15-5 in the two games played.

It’s a big weekend in the standings for the Huskies, who enter the second half of the season tied with the Beaverlodge Blades for last place in the NWJHL standings. However, only four points separate the bottom teams from the fourth place Junior Canucks, so there are some significant points on the line.

Both weekend games begin at 8 p.m. and Saturday’s game in Grande Prairie can be heard on 100.1 Moose FM or online.
