It didn’t take Fort St. John very long to find the back of the net, as only 54 seconds into the first, Cayle Bell scored the tenth goal of his rookie campaign, providing the Huskies a quick 1-0 lead on the road.

However, the JDA Kings showed why they lead the lead in offense, tying the game at 1-1 on the power-play just 10 seconds after the Huskies opened the scoring.

The game’s next and final goal, the game-winner, was scored 2:46 into the second, as Garrett Schacher beat Huskies goaltender Travis McLean to secure a home victory for the JDA Kings.

Much must be said about the tremendous effort put forth by McLean last night, as once again, the Huskies goalie was extremely busy in net, facing 54 shots Saturday, turning aside 52, compared to the 26 fired by Fort St. John. The performance earned McLean first star of the game honours.

Unlike the JDA Kings, the Huskies were unable to capitalize with the man advantage, going 0-for-3 on the power-play Saturday evening, while the JDA Kings went 1-for-3.

Next on the docket for the Huskies is a double-date with the North Peace Navigators, who will be in Fort St. John this coming weekend for games on both Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
