Column from MLA Pat Pimm

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost here and a new year is just around the corner! The past year passed by so quickly, but as it winds down, I’d like to thank you all for the wonderful memories we have shared. I’m so proud of the generosity of spirit shown by all in the Peace region – it adds to the quality of life for everyone, especially our children.

Christmas is about spending time with our families and loved ones, it is the time that we all reach out and make sure that we touch the ones that mean so much to us. Christmas is also about reaching out to those who are less fortunate and I am always so proud of the efforts that our Community makes in this regard. There are some wonderful campaigns going on right now, such as the Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign, which truly makes a difference for many people in our community. Christmas is a time for giving, so let’s all do our part.

This is an incredible time of year in the Peace Country – cool, crisp, sunny days, warm friendships, and good will to everyone! I also want to send a special thank you to all of our men and women in uniform that fight so hard to make sure that we have a peaceful and wonderful Christmas. Our government and Premier Clark are working hard to put families like yours first, to make sure that our economy continues to perform well so that you can enjoy the New Year with peace of mind.

I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

As we spend time with family and friends during the holiday season, let’s remember to enjoy all the social gatherings responsibly, and use a designated driver, or driver service, to ensure we all get home safely. Please plan ahead, and have a safe way of getting home.

Wishing you peace, joy and happiness, from my family to yours,
Pat Pimm, MLA
Peace River North
