From December 3 to December 17, drivers with outstanding parking tickets could pay with a toy donation instead.

Captain Deb VanderHeyden says there are 150 families that signed up to receive hampers this Christmas.
“We’re grateful to the City of Fort St. John that they allow motorists to do this,” she says. “We needed a lot of toys this year and we’re getting a lot of toys this year, and for that we’re grateful.”
The Salvation Army is still accepting toys, and says it could really use gifts for teenagers.
“That’s the toughest group to get toys for, so there’s always a need for that.”
VanderHeyden suggests donations like movie tickets, gift cards for Walmart or sports stores as options for the hard to buy for teens.
Donations of any kind can be dropped off at the Salvation Army on 100 Avenue.
