Both men resided in Lethbridge, Alberta, but are of English decent, working winter driving shifts for the transport company.

The driver was a 45 year old male, while the passenger, a 37 year old male, was transported by helicopter to the Fort St. John Hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP are still on the scene including collision analysts, as they try to determine the cause of the accident, as authorities claim the roads were not listed as dangerous in that area.

Currently, roads are restricted to single-lane alternating traffic in the southbound lane, as the northbound lane remains closed during the RCMP’s investigation.

RCMP is hoping to have the highways open by 5 p.m. today.
