The weekend showdown will be the first of two back-to-back games scheduled between the Flyers and the Generals, who will play Saturday, November 10 and again Sunday, November 11 in an afternoon game.

The two clubs will then meet again in Fort St. John on January 5 and 6.

It’s a big weekend for the Senior Flyers, as they will need these AAA tune-up games to prepare them for the level of competition they will face in March, when Fort St. John hosts the Savage Cup.

Even more important is that this year, Bentley will be hosting the 2012 Allan Cup, and with the omission of the 2012 McKenzie Cup tournament, the four games could provide the Flyers some useful insight into their potential future opponents.

The Senior Flyers enter the weekend leading the North Peace Hockey League’s West Division with a perfect 3-0 record and are coming off an exciting 5-4 overtime victory at home against the Dawson Creek Canucks.

The next home game for the Flyers will be Saturday, November 17 when they welcome the Grande Prairie Athletics back to town – a team the Flyers defeated their first game of the season 5-1 on the road.
